Ryan Celley conceived the Latency project in the summer of 2010. He quickly recruited Rory Masterson and Jordan Thompson to assist him in his quest to record an album before he went back to college. Along the way, many others stopped in to help, including renowned local musicians Rolfe Neigenfind, Nate Docherty, Seth Warner, Justin Lyons and Jared Best.
Only so many things can come together in the course of less than three months. In the time it took to write and record this record, Spain won their first World Cup, BP plugged the Gulf oil leak, Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens died in a plane crash and Jordan Thompson became an Eagle Scout. In between, we attempted to simultaneously create something entirely new while honoring our varied influences. Here, hear the result. This album is not, by any means, perfect, but so few are. We can say that in the summer of 2010, we did the best we could, with what we had. This is Latency.
